April 12, 2021 - SunAlta Solar's Bassano Community Solar Project is Approved

The Alberta Utility Commission issues its order in proceeding 25951. The renewable energy project will operate for 30 years or more and is rated 9.25 MWac. It will produce 16 million kilowatt hours and avoid 9000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year.  This is the equivalent of removing 15,000 cars from Alberta roads. The project will connect with the FortisAlberta distribution system 14 km southeast of the Town of Bassano.  For further details refer to the AUC and SunAlta Power websites.
